Southern Junior League Round 1 Results

Hutton Moor  Leisure Centre, Saturday 24th April 2010

Round One of the Southern Junior League saw the squad travel to Weston-super-Mare and as ever this opening fixture provided an introduction to team competition for many of the younger swimmers. Against some particularly strong opposition the Bath Dolphin Junior Squad produced a spirited team performance which resulted in a more than creditable 3rd place finish.

With first place finishes proving to be particularly hard fought and rare commodities for the team it was nonetheless encouraging to see that 4 new Bath Dolphin Junior League records were set together with a host of individual personal best times.

The overall final gala positions were 1st place Weston-super-Mare 345 points, 2nd place Yeovil A 334 points, 3rd place Bath Dolphin 259 points, 4th place Seagulls 247 points, 5th place West Dorset 233 points, 6th place Yeovil B 133 points, 7th place Tritons 97 points & 8th place Wells & Shepton Mallet 71 points.

The Bath Dolphin individual winners for the evening (in order of appearance) were Herbie Johnson and Lily Booker. A first place was also gained by the boys 11 years & under freestyle relay team (Jasper Lye, Jack Mackay, Herbie Johnson & Ieuan George).  

New Bath Dolphin Junior League records fell to Lily Booker (2nr) in both the 9 yr girls breaststroke and butterfly, Izzy McNab in the 10 yr girls butterfly and the 10 yr girls medley relay team (Rosie Granger, Natasha Thornton, Izzy McNab & Isabella Tann).
