International Success For Sam
The Quays Southampton, Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th April
Bath Dolphin SC and Reading Cygnets swimmer Sam Haslam represented England in the European Down Syndrome Open Competition at Southampton and achieved five top 3 placings. Sam was successful in gaining 1 Gold, 2 Silvers and 2 Bronzes at the two day gala.
Competing in his first ever competitive Breaststroke event he got gold at the 25m distance. His silvers came in the 100m Freestyle in a new PB and 25m Butterfly events. The bronzes were for the 25m Freestyle and Backstroke events.
Sam is aiming to compete in the 5th World Down Syndrome Competition in Taipei, Taiwan, in October 2010 and has the best wishes of the Club in his preparation.
