First NQT For Tom at ASASW Championships
Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th June, Millfield School
For three members of the squad the Club Gala was only the start of their weekends competition. On Saturday morning Jasper Lye, Max Granger and Tom Smith all headed over to Millfield School for the start of the Regional Age Group Championships.
Given the standard of opposition they faced -
In particular Tom Smith had another successful weekend and his swim in the 100m freestyle final proved to be the Dolphin pick of the weekend.
Whilst he was justifiably pleased to pick up a bronze medal, in many ways Tom was more interested in his time. Having narrowly missed out in the heats, his time in the final was quick enough to secure a place at the National Age Group Championships. This first National Qualifying Time underlines Tom's recent run of form and is testimony to his uncompromising attitude to the sport. Well done Tom.
