May 10 SOTM
First of all, very many apologies. We seem to be getting even further behind in notifying you all of the winning swimmers.
Anyway, for the girls the award for May goes to Isobel Staines. Izzy is one of those swimmers who not only trains on a regular basis but also gives 100% during training sessions, and doesn’t it show. Izzy tells us that front crawl is not really her favourite stroke but with 25m swims now in the 17 second bracket, as witnessed in the final round of the SJL at Bridport, you wouldn’t have thought so. That said her other strokes are in fact equally as impressive. Izzy has progressed a long way in a very short time and we certainly look forward to things continuing in this vein in the future. Izzy is a very well deserved holder of the trophy.
And for the May award we have a boy winner, none other than Frederick Windsor. Freddie is very much like Izzy in that he trains on a regular basis and always puts 100% effort into training sessions, resulting in steady improvement in his stroke technique. Freddie was a pivotal member of the boys relay team in all three SJL galas, culminating in a first place in both the freestyle and medley relays at Bridport. Well done Freddie and keep up the good work.
And not forgetting the other swimmers who swam at Bridport. With so many first places it was a great result. Well done to all of you. You did us proud.
Steve and Gordon.
