The girl swimmer of the month goes to Rosie Granger. Rosie joined the squad just
over a year ago and from the start it was clear that she was no ordinary swimmer.
Her stroke technique is second to none and it is a joy to watch Rosie swimming at
full pace. The fantastic swims in the recent club winter gala were the culmination
of many months of hard work and served as a tantalizing glimpse of things to come
in 2009, when Rosie will be old enough to compete in inter-
For yet another month the boy swimmer of the month is a girl, the award going to
Ruby Wood, for the second time. Ruby has shown remarkable improvement, not only in
the four strokes but also in the starts and turns where her streamlining is brilliant.
And not just at the shorter distances. In a recent 5 x 200m freestyle training set,
Ruby impressed by notching up faster times for each swim. We coaches keep on about
dedication. Ruby was one (of two) swimmers to turn up for training on Hallowe’en
night -
