Bath Sports & Leisure Centre, Saturday 16th May 2009
The second round gala saw the Bath Dolphin Junior swimmers racing against stern opposition spearheaded most notably by a strong Swindon SX3 Squad. On the night the standard of competition in all events was very high and event victories were particularly hard to come by.
The final gala positions saw Bath Dolphin finish in a very respectable 4th place, only eight points behind Keynsham, whilst the performances of the relay teams and the securing of another five Dolphin Junior League records, demonstrate the burgeoning potential of the Junior squad.
The overall final gala positions were 1st place Swindon SX3 255 points 2nd place Southwold 192 points, 3rd place Keynsham 173 points, 4th place Bath Dolphin 165 points, 5th place Trowbridge 163 points & 6th place Thornbury 64 points.
The individual winners (in order of appearance) were Jasper Lye, Tom Smith (2 wins) and Maisie Woods, whilst the boys 12 years relay team were successful in both the medley and freestyle events.
New Bath Dolphin Junior League records fell to Herbie Johnson (9yr boys freestyle), Tom Smith (12 yr boys freestyle), Esmee Charley (11 yr girls freestyle), William Holmes (9yr boys butterfly) together with the Canon Relay Team of Rosie Granger, Herbie Johnson, Maddie Brown, Jasper Lye, Esmee Charley, Alex Joy, Esther Haskins and Tom Smith.
