Southern Junior League Round 3 Results
Bridport Leisure Centre, Saturday 20th June 2009
For the second time this season the Bath Dolphin Junior squad swimmers travelled to Bridport to compete in the southern junior league. For this final round gala Bath were also accompanied on the journey south with two teams from Bristol, together with Keynsham and Trowbridge!
On the night the team once again performed admirably with many fine swims coming across all age categories.
Contrary to the announcements made on poolside the overall final gala positions were 1st place Trowbridge 192 points, 2nd place Soundwell 186 points, 3rd place Bath Dolphin 183 points, 4th place Keynsham 171 points, 5th place Tornadoes of South Dorset 149 points, & 6th place Bristol Central 134 points.
In total there were ten first team places on the night (five in relays and five to individual swimmers. The individual wins were gained by Herbie Johnson (9yr boys freestyle), Jasper Lye (10yr boys breaststroke), Tom Smith (12yr boys butterfly and backstroke) and Alex Joy (11yr boys freestyle). The evening also saw four Bath Dolphin Junior League records fall to Jasper (breaststroke), Tom (butterfly), Isabelle McNab (9yr girls butterfly) and the canon relay team.
