Junior Swimmers of the Month
January
For January the SOTM award goes to two swimmers who not only train at almost every session but also gave awesome performances at the recent Corsham Open Meet, after all that is what all the hard training is about, success when it counts.
For the boys the award goes to Daniel Perry. Although feeling rather apprehensive prior to the event Danny, through sheer grit and determination, completed the 200m Butterfly event at Corsham, in the process gaining the admiration of all those present with the loudest applause of the entire weekend. Just outstanding Danny and we "take our hats off" to you.
For the girls the award goes to Beth Carter. Beth was nothing other than outstanding at Corsham winning no less than 4 Golds, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal. Beth has worked extremely hard in her training to achieve this level of performace and it showed over the weekend. And it was worth swimming the 50m Backstroke wasn't it Beth! Your award is very well deserved indeed.
Very well done to all of you who swam at Corsham, you all did Bath Dolphin proud and certainly made our weekend. A special mention must go to Lucas Lawman who was the overall winner for the weekend in the Boys' 9 year category, a fantastic achievement. Well done Lucas.
Keep it up everyone, and remember the Somersets are not far off and, like the national swimmers are having to do for the Olympics, you need to "book your place" in the Junior League team.
