ASASW Development Course, Bryanston 2009

Bryanston 2009

There was a strong Bath Dolphin presence at this year’s annual ASASW Region School of Swimming Development course. The residential course is held annually at Bryanston School near Blandford Forum and provides the opportunity for the swimmers to benefit from targeted instruction of core technique in the four strokes, individual medley and starts/turns. The course also provides specialist lectures in subjects including sports psychology and nutrition together with a range of recreational activities and is attended by a top level competitive swimmer. This year Cassie Patten (Beijing Olympics bronze medal winner in the open water 10k and 800m finalist) gave lectures and pool sessions for each of the swimming groups.

Eight Bath Dolphin swimmers attended the course this year (Charley Bond, Esmee Charley, Alex Joy, Tom Smith, Max Granger, Brandon Pallister, David Cook and Nick Parks) and we look forward to seeing the benefits from their week in the upcoming galas.

On the coaching side the club was represented by Paul Sartain and Phil Brake, whilst Kirby Littlewood was responsible for chaperoning one of the swimming groups.
