Swimmer of the Month Awards for June
For the girls the award this month goes to Eleri Webber. Eleri is one of our younger swimmers and has been with us for just over a year. Eleri would probably agree that she found squad training hard at first but what a transformation there has been in the last 3 months or so, during which time Eleri has improved her front crawl and breaststroke out of all recognition. Eleri certainly gives 100% effort in her training sessions. Very well done, Eleri. No doubt you are looking forward to the Bristol North Open Meet where you be swimming against other clubs for the first time.
Whilst there were boys in contention for the June award it was felt that attendance needed to improve so the award this month goes to a girl, this time to Lucy Perkins. Lucy has probably the best attendance record, regularly attending the maximum of 3 sessions per week and as a result there has been steady improvement in her strokes. Lucy competed in her first inter club competition in the last round of the Southern Junior League where she swam two creditable front crawl lengths as part of the 10 year old girls relay team. Well done Lucy. Keep up the training.
Very well done to all those who swam for a distance badge at Kingswood. Yet again
there was some truly amazing swims. Watching from the poolside what stood out was
the quality of the stroke technique, not just after the first few lengths but throughout
the entire distance -
