Exeter City Open Meet 23rd & 24th January 2010
Exeter City Swimming Club Open Meet, Millfield School, Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th January 2010
Looking to blow away some midwinter cobwebs, a small Bath Dolphin team journeyed to Millfield School at the weekend, to compete in the Exeter City Level One Open Meet. This competitive gala provided the opportunity for the Dolphin swimmers to gauge their form against a high quality field and look to secure some all important qualifying times.
In total the Bath Dolphin swimmers finished the weekend with eight gold, four silver and two bronze medals. Tom Smith opened this years account by gaining five gold and three silver medals whilst Luke Ladbrooke was unbeaten over the weekend and came away with three gold medals (and more significantly two national qualifying times). Max Granger underlined his continuing progression in the sprint events as he picked up a silver and bronze medal and Rebecca Cornish gained a bronze in the backstroke sprint.
With a number of other swims narrowly missing out on the medals and a host of PB’s it looks like there is plenty more to come in the forthcoming County Championships.
