Lord de Blaquiere Challenge Vase for Performance During 2009
Following a spell of three years in which the trophy has not been awarded, this year the committee has selected Tom Smith to receive the award.
The comments that follow have been prepared by Tom’s coach Phil Brake.
The winner of the Lord de Blaquiere trophy this year is Tom Smith for outstanding achievement in his swimming. Over the last few years Tom has totally dominated his age group at both the Somerset County Championships and the Western County Sprints over all disciplines. He has consistently been top boy at both events as well as securing many first places and top boy trophies at various Open Meets. Tom continues to set personal best times & club records. He is dedicated to his swimming and is a very worthy recipient of this prestigious award.
