Corsham Open Meet, Springfield Leisure centre, Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th February 2010

The squad was out in force over the weekend for this years Corsham Open Meet where Dolphin swimmers accounted for well over a quarter of the swims undertaken during the event. With the County Championships due to recommence this weekend the gala provided the opportunity for the squad to hone their racing skills and they certainly didn’t disappoint.

This year the squad came away with a total of 101 medals (34 gold, 36 silver and 31 bronze) which represented over a third of the medals awarded at the gala. Whilst there were seven occasions  during the gala that saw Dolphin swimmers occupy all three spaces on the podium, the results from the 11 & 12 year old girls 100m freestyle deserve particular mention. In this event the top five were all Dolphin swimmers as were nine of the top eleven finishers.

Once again the Dolphin squad provided winners in the overall age awards in the form of  Jasper Lye, Tom Smith, Rebecca Cornish and Ryan Gay.

Well done to all the swimmers who competed at the gala!
